As I mentioned very briefly on the last episode, I’m thinking of holding a Twitter party as part of the 100th episode celebrations.
If you’re wondering what that is, well it’s pretty simple really. There’s a hashtag for the party (a way of labelling tweets) that gets added to every tweet written by those taking part. You can then use the hashtag to create a specific timeline or group, and follow all the party tweets. It’s a bit of a real-time chat, with a LOT of silliness and virtual gin. The Sheep has promised to brew a special batch of moonshine, and he’s also threatening me with karaoke… :o)
It’s very simple to join in, even if you’re not on Twitter. There’s a helpful blogpost here. Following a party on the Twitter website can be tricky, depending on how busy it gets, so you might want to try a platform like Tweet Grid, or apps like Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, and Twirl will let you configure a party list to follow.
Obviously, I can’t cater for all timezones, so I’m sorry if you miss out on account of it being 4am where you are. However, you should still be able to read the tweets from the party afterwards.
My plan is to post the 100th episode up on Sunday, so Sunday evening seems the logical choice for the Twitter Party:
Sunday 9th September at 7pm (British Summer Time)
My Twitter name is: @hoxtonhandmade
And the hashtag for the party is: #100sheep
The party will go on for an hour or so, we’ll see how we get on, and I hope you’ll be able to join in!
If you do want to join, please keep an eye on here, this thread on Ravelry and my Twitter feed for any changes or updates.
