Episode 95: Bugbears

This week I attempt to deal with my bugbears, answering the questions and correcting the assumptions people make when they see me knitting. I’ll also be telling you about my holiday, and my holiday knitting; there’s a new collection from Brooklyn Tweed and a brilliant new addition to the Olympics.

Simmer Dim shawl, Flamboyance Yarns

Excellent essay! “Eye-wateringly expensive” cracked me up :-)

Excellent episode! I’m an anesthetist, I earn a decent living…nevertheless, people suggest to me, even if I’m at work, knitting during a break, that I should sell my knitting at a stall or something. They are serious! Cannot get it through to them that if I charged my normal hourly rate they would be very expensive items! And that’s not even taking the cost of the yarn into account. I just knit things for me and for people I like. It’s quite simple. It’s actually quite inusulting when people offer to pay me money to knit something for them.
