Knit All the Things

I’ve been doing a mental round up of Things That Need Knitting, and once I ran out of fingers I knew I was in trouble.

The problem lovely thing is that several friends are having babies and getting married; momentous occasions for which knitting is an obvious requirement. Although some friends have actually gone ahead and had the babies without waiting for the knitting (can you believe it!)  so I am way behind. Not that the babies really seem to care about this fall in standards but it seems wrong to leave them without some kind of woolly compensation from the crazy lady who keeps picking them up for a cuddle when they were quite happy playing on the floor and trying to chew their own foot.

Luckily, a couple of these are not yet critical, thanks to those who’ve been thoughtful enough to plan their wedding for November. However, May and June will see the arrival of two babies, the christening of a third, a wedding, and I promised my brother a cardigan for his birthday. And anyone who wonders whether I couldn’t have planned this better, given that after 30 years my brother’s birth date is hardly a mystery, or that I’ve had 6 month’s advance notice of the arrival of babies, all I can say is that no one likes a know-it-all. And yes, you’re right, but I don’t have time to chat. Must. Knit. Faster.

Yippee! Baby knitting – what will you make? So many lovely bits on Ravelry :)
I do love a bit of deadline knitting to really get those needles clicking!

So nice to know I’m not alone on the denial/procrastination carousel!

Same thing has happened to me but I also hurt my wrist digging bulbs out of clay and now I can’t finish anything. Poor babies will have to get Onesies with snarky comments on them or Etsy stuff. Rats. >:(
