Ivydene

Time for a little accessorising I feel. The advent of Autumn means we can all embrace those lovely hats, scarves, mittens, shawls, cowls, gloves and berets that have been tucked away in a drawer over the summer. Yay.

For some quick knitting, excellent stash-busting and ideal gift, what could be better than a hat? And who better to turn to for a good pattern than the Queen of Knitted Hats herself, Woolly Wormhead.

Ivydene is one of many fantastic items of head gear she's created and very lovely it is too. A slouchy beret is versatile, popular and comfortable. The lace pattern repeat isn't too daunting and I love that it has a garter stitch base, rather than ribbing or stocking stitch.

I'll certainly be rooting around in my stash to see if I have something suitable for this. After all, you can never have too many hats.

  1. I test knit this one, and it is wonderful. The garter flows from the brim up into the lace.

It’s a speedy knit, too. Enjoy!

What a lovely pattern. Thanks for the link. I love knitting hats and mittens, so I’ll be adding this pattern to my list.

Ah-ha, so you have insider knowledge! I love garter stitch, looking forward to this one!
