Ambleside / Ulveston

In London it may still technically be August, but it feels more like October, with grey skies, pouring rain, and chilly temperatures. On the plus side, it makes for good knitting weather, but I find the only way to get through this sort of climate is with layers.

You want a little warmth, but nothing too bulky or you'll just get hot and sweaty on the Tube and in the office. Enter the short-sleeved jumper.

This Purelife Winter Collection from Rowan has two jumpers of very similar construction – a tunic with short, wide sleeves – which are calling to me. One with soft, undulating cables and one in a lace pattern that nicely balances the chunkiness of the wool. I can't decide which one I like more…

  1. You’re right about a full sweater (jumper) being too hot for indoors. These short-sleeved jumpers are a great solution. Of course, you have to make the one you like, but I’m leaning toward the tunic with the soft cables. It makes more of a statement, to me anyway. Enjoy choosing—they’re both lovely.

Thanks Andrea – I’m with you, I think the cabled one’s the winner. I’m a sucker for a good cable….!
